This section explores the technical side of the colliery itself, especially the existing winders and the heapsteads. It also looks at the shafts, the ventilation system and the steam plant, together with the screens, washery and other auxiliary surface buildings that were in use during the colliery’s lifetime. Some details of the underground workings are given and these will be expanded as information becomes available.
