Section under development

The Samson Stripper was a powerful self-propelled form of heavy coal plough. It moved along the coal face in a series of short steps, anchoring itself in position with a hydraulic turret before thrusting a wedge shaped blade into the rib of coal to remove a short thick slice which fell onto a chain face-conveyor.
