In addition to supplying steam for the winding engines, the boilers also provided hot water for the baths. This water was heated by steam in a calorifier which consisted of a large cylindrical water tank containing coiled pipework through which steam was passed. This was located at the south end of the baths complex and supplied by steam from the main boilers via a tunnel running under the pit-yard and the east sidings. No details are known at present.
